JABEZ MOTHER AND RACHEL SHARED THE SAME DESTINY  WITH MOST WOMEN:

The pain of child birth is common to all women that  are not born again  This is part part of the punishment for disobeying God in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:16     Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

GENESIS 35:16-18

    And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour. [17] And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. [18] And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

JABEZ DISCOVERED THAT THE MOTHER DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE CAUSE OF HER PAIN and erreoneously transferred the cause to him. Through prayers he had to quickly change it and continue with his divine destiny. 1Ch 4:9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. {Jabez: that is, Sorrowful}
 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. {Oh...: Heb. If thou wilt, etc} {keep...: Heb. do me}
 
RACHEL ALSO TRANSFERRED THE PAIN OF HER ERRORS OR CURSE TO THE SON. She called him the son of my sorrows{BEN-ONI}. Jacob had to reverse it from the point of knowledge. He change the name of the boy to Benjamin, the son of my right hand{BENJAMIN}.Rachel’s curse came from the curse placed on her for stealing the idols of her father Laban the Syrian which  she sat upon  when she was probably pregnant  for the baby.

Genesis 31:32

    With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

Genesis 31:34    

Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
